Samsung unveiled the My Galaxy app, which is made to "help Samsung Galaxy owners here get the most from their smartphones." Created in collaboration with Monitise Create, the application comes with the content that is "uniquely tailored" to offer the most personalized customer experience.

Included in the deal is a range of exclusive offers from film and music content, tickets for live events, along with quick access to Samsung's accessories shop that has more than 300 products in the catalog.

Additionally, My Galaxy informs customers about the latest software updates, offers interactive walk-throughs, while providing answers to most frequently asked questions related to services and features of a Galaxy smartphone.

Simon Stanford, Vice President of IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland said that My Galaxy "brings together everything that a Galaxy owner needs to get the most out of their device."

The Samsung My Galaxy app is available to download for Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Fame and Galaxy S III Mini customers. It will be pre-installed on devices sold in the UK later in 2013.

Now that's all nice, but we're not sure how mobile operators feel about this app. More often than not they like to control the end-user experience offering their own "my SOMETHING" apps that give users access to key support information, technical details and perhaps the ability to buy accessories, upgrade their contracts and so on. An app like My Galaxy could easily stand on their way of increasing ARPU. Or at least that's how I see it...
